From an early age, I was smitten with the written word. Reading and writing could transport me to other places, where I could meet fantastic creatures and explore exciting new worlds.
In order to feed my reading habit, I took a job as a teen at an indie bookstore so I could immerse myself. Within a few years, I became store manager and stayed until the store's closing in May 2011.
I just can't leave books alone, though. I recently took a job for one day a week at another local indie bookstore where they let me come in to help customers with recommendations. And I get to smell the delicious aroma of old paper and book paste all day long. It's heaven.
For the past 3 years, I have also been working in the marketing department of a renewable energies company, taking care of their social media and web content.
Proofing and editing are second nature and I have an in-depth knowledge of SEO/SEM best practices. I am very comfortable creating content around select keywords to increase web traffic. Quality is extremely important to me and I try to always adhere to the best writing standards possible.
So here I am, a reading and writing maniac with lots of things to share with the world.
By the way, my husband and I are very active volunteers with Northern California Beagle Rescue (www.norcalbeagles.com) - always have to give a shoutout for this fabulous rescue organization! We have fostered and adopted so many beagles over the year - we currently have 2 young former research beagles named Wilson and Maya that light up our lives with their crazy antics.
